The first three Farmstead levels keep one citizen slot while their base appeal cap increases. Compare those changes before spending worship points, then prepare the materials for the exact upgrade. Building capacity, your farmer’s current level and crop production are different questions.
Compare the building, not the worker
Citizen slots describe how many citizens the building can hold, not how many are currently assigned. The base appeal cap is a building limit, not your settlement’s current appeal after other effects. The level cards below use those two distinct values.
An unchanged slot count does not mean an upgrade has no benefit. Equally, a larger appeal cap is not a direct harvest-speed multiplier. Check the property you actually need rather than assuming every statistic improves together.
Follow the Ceres prerequisite chain
On the board for Ceres, Farmstead - Level 3 follows the unlock for Farmstead - Level 2. Select the level you need. “Use game progress” excludes acquired prerequisites while the matching game connection is current; otherwise choose “Full goal costs”.
Unlocking the construction and building it are separate steps. The board answers the point-cost question; the upgrade’s construction page answers the material question.
Prepare the exact upgrade’s materials
Open the construction for the level you intend to build, not the entry for the original Farmstead. Send those material requirements to the crafting planner, deduct the stock you already have and choose recipes your settlement can use. A saved materials plan does not assume the workplace or unlock already exists.

Keep production problems separate
When a farmer or supply chain is not doing what you expect, first inspect its assigned work, the selected crop and the receiving workplace. A level comparison cannot see your fields, stored items or current orders.
Use the crop and recipe pages to trace the requirement that is missing. For an upgrade decision, return to the exact building levels above; for a flour or bread order, plan the finished item and follow its ingredients.
